Angelina and her lipgloss make headlines

Did you see the Golden Globes on Sunday from start to finish?  Fashiona didn't either but she did watch the  last hour and caught this gem.   If you can't see the flash icon below, please click here for the video clip.

Yes that is the uber gorgeous Angelina (wearing a green long sleeve Versace dress) reapplying her lipgloss and no sooner than she could put the top back on the tube...Twitter was "a-twitter."

What questions were on your mind? These were Fashiona's...

  1. Did Brad by chance kiss it off?
  2. What brand was she wearing?
  3. What was the exact shade?
  4. How many cosmetic deals will she be approached with?
  5. What ELSE was in her Ferragamo clutch?

Heart of Haiti brings hope and help one year later

A year ago today the world's attention  turned to Haiti as they experienced one of the worst natural disasters of the decade.  The earthquake destroyed the infrastructure, the government and took over 300,000 lives but the enduring story is the  resilience of the Haitian people as they rebuild their beloved country.

Things that Fashiona should have covered in 2010

Day 1 of the Atlanta snow storm was ohh so pretty...on Day 3 let's just say the novelty has worn off.  But sadly the snow now ice has not melted so Fashiona is stranded (highways are literally closed) at home...again.  With her new found free time...Fashiona has decided to write about some things that she couldn't quite get to in December.

First up...her favorite celeb bohemian Nicole Richie got married in a lovely Marchesa gown on Dec 11.  Such a major transformation from her wild days with Paris Hilton to the wife/mother/fashion designer that she has become!!Fashiona's favorite shot from the wedding dress was her embroidered sleeve with their names...beautifully done.

Secondly...Fashiona DID cover the ROYAL engagement of Kate Middleton and Prince William and wishes the couple well.  Now that the Queen is on board, the date set April 29, 2011, the venue agreed upon, the official engagement photos are taken and archived, the question that the fashion world is repeatedly asking...who is going to design her dress?  In Fashiona's opinion the design world has not been all "a-twitter" since the sketches were being drawn up for Mrs. Obama's inauguration gown.

Ms. Fabulous did a stellar job rounding up the some of the best illustrations  from the designers vying for the chance to dress the Princess-to-Be for what will be the arguably the biggest wedding of the decade.  As stunning as Kate is...she would look good in anything but Fashiona sees her in somewhat of a traditional gown like this Badgley Mischka gown.

Lastly but certainly not least....Black Swan. Fashiona loves Natalie Portman and applauds her stellar job in the ballet thriller and of course grants her best wishes on her recent engagement and bun in the oven.

Just asking though..how many Halloween costumes and amateur Black Swan like Swan Lake productions will be inspired by Rodarte's costumes from  these movie?

As the saying goes imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...

New Year New News New Goals

Fashiona hopes that all her readers have had a good start to 2011. She has been quiet as of late because she has experienced a lot of change in a short period of time. This post is delayed because she wanted to share the news with her friends and family first before sharing in blog world.

Ready...here it is.

In December she moved across the metro Atlanta area in part because she got promoted to Assistant Manager at White House Black Market in a different location then the one where she started.  For those counting that is two promotions in a year and the latter in the mist of the most hectic time in retail...the holiday season.

With the holiday season over (whew) and a few days off in a row...yay!!...Fashiona is doing her best to, as her blog friend Dori  from A Little Yellow House put  it, "Push the reset button."

With Fashiona's new personal and work commitments...she will write less often but hopefully more quality (error-free) posts.

Blog wise Fashiona is still very committed to covering:
  • Fashion with Purpose events/causes
  • Tips for achieving personal style and social commentary
  • And finally with her photographer friend's help she will incorporate some video this year.
Long term...she is working on her first book...she is finding  that the whole book writing process certainly takes longer than it does in the movies.
