Ambermag.com brings the Adore Your Beauty to Spelman

One of Fashiona's favorite memories surrounding college is Homecoming Week...the step shows, the game, the wild "eventful" parties and the special events.

Ambermag.com is making college memories that much more special for Spelman (recently voted the no. 1
HBCU in the country by U.S. News & World Report for 2010) with their Adore Your Beauty tour.

Fashiona's alma mater, Florida A & M University was rated number 12.
The swag bags included  IMAN makeup, copies of Heart & Soul magazine and hair care products by Mizani.
College Chick, who has known Fashiona and Sis since she was a toddler, is a Spelman student and stopped by the tent to give Fashiona the real scoop.

In her words:
"I went to the AMBERmag event briefly yesterday and today and it was really nice overall. They had a section where they were doing make-up consultations by Iman cosmetics and a section where they were styling hair using Mizani products. I'm thinking about going back to get my make-up done. There was a massage section as well and me and a friend got massages, which were really relaxing."

ASCAP presents: Women Behind the Music Part 3

After posing and interviewing on the Red Carpet....ASCAP honorees shared some of their wisdom that they have collectively learned while climbing the music industry ladder.

From left to right: Rashan Ali, Kelly Rowland, Sandra Brown, Hannah Kang

Hannah Kang, GM of Grand Hustle shared with the panel and guests that she never expected to be a part of the music industry.  She was managing The Shark Bar in her early 20's and she was constantly surrounded by entertainment moguls.  Her take is that business is business... yes there are different nuances in every industry but the essentials of business remain the same.

Attorney Sandra Brown cautions would-be-entertainment lawyers that there is A LOT of non-glamorous work that goes into representing top clients.  Those contracts have to be in the  best interest  of the client and that takes time and research.

Kelly Rowland's pearls of wisdom included: Stay true to yourself.  Keep a piece of you to yourself even in this tell all social media phase.  Kelly further explained she means that she prefers to keep her private life private...she still remains accessible to budding artists and fondly remembers clamoring for SMV's attention in Houston during the early days of Destiny's Child.

Platforms were the footwear of choice.  Rashan had on a floral print that Kelly complimented her on and Ms. Rowland rocked a pair of black suede platforms.

ASCAP presents: Women Behind the Music Part 2

ASCAP presents: Women Behind the Music was about honoring women that have achieved greatness in the music field.  Tuesday night...they looked absolutely fab on the Red Carpet.

Atlanta's DJ Traci Steele was amazing on the turntables and wore a bright yellow top, black mini and chunky bracelets.  Rashan Ali wore a black jersey pant suit with a low, low black...her skin is flawless.

Indeed these honorees mean business when they are representing clients, negotiating deals or navigating a still macho industry.

All three honorees and moderator Rashan were beautifully dressed, well coiffed and showcasing a mean shoe game...all three honorees looked every bit of the power brokers they are...

Part 2 will have Jae's pics and who was wearing what!

Fashiona at the N-Secure Movie Premiere

Thursday September 30,  Fashiona went to the premiere of N-Secure at Atlanta's Atlantic Station.   The movie itself was pretty good, putting a new twist on the  "tried and true" plot of gold digging women and  a controlling, insecure, half-baked man.  The movie set in Memphis, TN was an additional character to the film, highlighting some great blues musicians and clubs.

All photos by Jae Walker III

Of course...Fashiona really goes to premiere to scope out the Red Carpet and see who wears what.

First surprise of the night was the arrival of  music legend Millie Jackson, wearing a black embrodiered coat, a long curly ponytail and a gold necklace.

The lovely Elise Neal and Caryn Ward were photographer favorites.  Elise wore a navy blue J. Mendel dress accented with rhinestones,  shoes from Bebe, and a Betsy Johnson bag.  Caryn Ward, best known from her recurring role on The Game, wore a nude palette from head to toe.

Model Josechu shared with Fashiona that he is Mexican, Chinese and Afro-American, loves Atlanta, is a Saints fan and was wearing a Ben Sherman jacket.

Fashiona is sure that ladies in Atlanta love him too...
