Tipster Thursday: Photographer Blue Franswa shares the virtues of girdles

Fashiona interviewed Haiti born photographer Blue Franswa earlier this month about his upcoming celebrity calendar to raise money for Haiti and the last question she asked him was:

Every girl wants to look GOOD in photos! What are your two top tips for helping ordinary women have better photographic moments?

Blue:
  1. My best tips for women would be having a great makeup artist who knows how to contour, accentuating facial features and hiding flaws.
  2. Girdles I think most women who are size 8 or bigger should wear girdles...at photo shoots only because the camera adds 10 pounds. The girdle helps to smooth the body out. Beyoncé wears them all the time.

Tipster Thursday: Be Perfectly Nude with My Skins

Summer is here in Hotlanta and women are keeping cool by wearing white.  But alas with more women wearing white so are  the number of unsightly visible panty lines sightings...

In the past,  women were limited to wearing thongs...going commando or wearing the one color of nude underwear that seems to match no one on earth.

This year...Fashiona should be giving out less Fashion Tickets because My Skins now has 27... yes 27 skin matching colors.

My Skins offer these tips for using their color system:
"To color match for the panty we recommend using your upper thigh or hip area. Remember, good natural light is your best source for lighting. Your overall skin tone color should allow for choosing a single color choice for both your bra and panty."

My Skins has a full line of nude bras, panties on-line and includes care instructions on their website.

Although Fashiona wishes that model's  six-pack stomach was on sale too...

Tipster Thursday: Trés Sleek shapewear for curvy gals

Fashiona has been sharing the virtues of  shapewear for years...anything that "lifts and separates" she is all for...

This past Monday when she went to the opening of Plush, Atlanta's newest plus size boutique, she was introduced to Trés Sleek...shapewear for plus size gals. Wendy Brown, the owner of Plush, a plus sized woman herself takes care to outfit the curvy woman from head to toe. That includes having plus size mannequins, larger sized jewelry, jeans, shoes and Trés Sleek.

Bell Bottoms are back via Rachel Zoe and Piperlime

Skinny and slim leg jeans have dominated the style scene for a few years now but Fashiona personally favors bootcuts and bellbottoms. WHY you ask?  Well Miss Fashiona has Beyoncé like curves and  a tiny waist so proportionally...they look better on her.

Feeling the need to revamp your denim gear...score the very same Bell Bottoms that  Rachel Zoe...the stylist turned designer rocked  on her show The Rachel Zoe Project.

Lucky for womankind...Seven for All Mankind is re-leasing them exclusively on Piperlime.com.  Hurry it is  limited collection available until supplies last...

Fashiona declared "Preppy" by ShabbyApple.com

Fashiona is back...between starting her new job last week and  Topaz coming in town for the weekend, her time was otherwise occupied.  But she is back with new things to share.

Over the weekend, Fashiona received a press release from ShabbyApple.com...yes the name caught got her eye too.  It is a cute site that has everything from Style Advice (just send in an e-mail with your question) to tips for best flattering your shape to various clothing collections with names like "Black" to "Maternity" to everything in between.

Fashiona's favorite feature is the What's your style widget?

Now Fashiona took the quiz twice and was told she was PREPPY...really...what do you think?

Thimbler: Jeans made to order

A few years ago, Fashiona was describing her measurements to her friends and she said she was little, little, big. It is her tongue and cheek way of saying she has small bust, waistline and sizeable hips... and that A line skirts, unlike pencil skirts, are her best friend. Thimbler, a company that embraces women's hard to fit curves, makes clothing to exact measurements... in particular jeans. Thimbler invited Fashiona to try them out and she did.
  1. Fashiona first picked out wash and the silhouette that she wanted- Women's Flare Jeans in Stone-washed Blue

  2. Next Thimbler has pictures help describe your shape in the thigh, seat, and tummy areas. Ladies the more honest you are, the better your jeans will fit. So ask your best friend... not your significant other.
  3. Accurate measurements are the next step. Again, a girlfriend's assistance is very helpful here.

  4. Finally complete the sign in process and add any other customized features that you want. Fashiona asked for the waistband to be cut on the bias and Thimbler honored her request.

Almond Joy, kindly took her picture... and yes Fashiona is in the boxing ring and no she does not work as the "ring girl".

Now to be totally honest Fashiona lost a few pounds since she sent her measurements in and the fabric had a bit more stretch than she expected. Her advice take an 1/2" off the waist, seat and thigh measurements.

The male trainers otherwise known as the peanut gallery, already voiced their opinion and umm those comments are not bloggable. Having that said Fashiona wants to know what you think about her customized jeans.
