Kate becomes Catherine Duchess of Cambridge

Fashiona watched Kate Middleton become a newlywed and Catherine Duchess of Cambridge at Piedmont  Park in Atlanta.  The "Central Park" of Atlanta offered a sunrise British breakfast tea complete with scones and champagne to watch the biggest wedding of the year play out.

Fashiona though Kate looked in a word: Stunning!

The hand sewn couture gown, delicate tiara, and embroidered veil matched her personality and the grandness of the occasion.    Her Grace Kelly inspired dress by Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton was a perfect fit for such a grand occasion.  Maid of Honor and sister Pippa looked equally beautiful in her Sarah Burton white gown. Fashiona anticipates that this bridal season Maids of Honor and Bridesmaids will be wearing all white dresses as well.

William looked dashing in his Colonel of the Irish Guards military uniform...a touch that Fashiona thought was in VERY good taste considering Great Britain has so many soldiers serving in the Middle East.

Fashiona wishes the young couple them well and knows that the Lady Diana would be so proud.

Fashiona on Atlanta's 40 $40 weddings in 40 hours

Over  a rare leisurely breakfast, Fashiona was watching CNN and the story 40-40-40 caught her attention. Veteran wedding planner Sylvia Wyfer Clark  was describing her concept of 40,$40 per person weddings  in 40 hours at the rate of one per hour to help cash strapped couples and to raise funds for Atlanta's homeless.

What was included in the $40 per person fee?

  • A choice of  a religious or civil ceremony

  • Bouquet

  • Cake

  • Reception

CNN's Heidi Collins  asked (that Fashiona was thinking)...where there any Bridezillas?  Ms. Clark actually said there was one...seriously at $80 a wedding...umm no hissy fits should have been allowed.  In her place, Fashiona would have sent the unruly bride... straight to the Justice of the Peace.

All jokes aside, Fashiona applauds Sylvia's ingenious idea of "marrying"  weddings and fundraising together and would love to volunteer at next year's event.

Founded in 1986, the Atlanta Children's Shelter provides free, quality day care, emotional support, an educational curriculum for homeless children, and focused social services for their families.

Fashiona on Ivanka Trump's Wedding

So Fashiona's Pocahontas outfit has to wait until next year...after two hectic days at the boutique  and a sketchy lunch Fashiona had to crash her Sis's and recover.

Earlier this week when Fashiona heard that Ivanka got  married...she was skeptical.  After all  half the martial news about celebrities is just rumor...like Nicole Richie's supposed nuptials!!

But turns out Ivanka's wedding was for real and really very classy.

 Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump

Fashiona has always liked Ivanka for her work ethic and elegance.  True,  she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth but she has certainly gone platinum. Not content to bank on her famous name, good looks or  inheritance; she graduated from Wharton School of Business.  Yes she is a newly minted VP in  her dad's (the Donald) enterprise ,but she also has a self titled  super fab jewelry collection:

Inspired by fashion icon Grace Kelly's  1956 wedding dress, Ivanka and Vera Wang,  created  THE perfect couture wedding. The hand made lace gown with sleeves is sure set to a good trend among the near future brides.
