So everyone was talking about Beyoncé last night and with good reason...she looked absolutely incredible. Her futuristic BladeRunner-esqe web like dress left nada to the imagination except what must her ab (torture chamber) work out really look like!! Congrats to Bey on her well deserved Millennium Award.

Rihanna working her techno red hair and white pants suit. Nice change for Rhi Rhi and very lady like.

Kelly Rowland looked pretty in pink with her body hugging mini. 

 Fergie had the dominatrix look down to the hilt. Josh betta watch out...

Fashiona's Red Carpet Review: Oscars 2011

Fashion wise, Fashiona deemed the Oscars 2011 as one of best years in quite some time. Shades of purple were all over the Red Carpet, breaking up the long line of "safe" black dresses. 

The fashion parade was so delightful  in fact that she could not decide who won the Best Dressed (hence the delay in this post). 

Even the "bad" fashion was appealing in a cheeky way....

Best example was Helen Bonham Carter who seems to relish in her reputation as an eccentric (tacky) dresser.  Her Colleen Atwood Victorian style black corset-style velvet and taffeta dress was beautifully done...it was the Union Jack flag tied to her calf, garter style that really made headlines.

Jennifer Hudson made the Huffington Post Worst Dressed list...but Fashion disagrees.   Her Versace tomato color taffeta dress was daring...especially for her.  Now her hair was another story....the late Ray Charles could have done a better job fixing those roots...

Gwenyth Paltrow, who was way too thin to wear that cat suit she wore for the Golden Globes, went back to a more "Gwennie" type look.  The iridescent Calvin Klein gown fit her lean physique perfectly.

Scarlett Johansson's gown was unexpected for her...loved the plum color and the cut out back...very Dolce and Gabbana.

 Camila Alves (the Brazilian model girlfriend of Matthew McConaughey) looked the part of a Hollywood diva of yesteryear in Kaufman Franco.

Halle Berry was breathtaking...as usual.  She tends to wear Elie Saab a lot but went with Marchesa instead. 

Natalie Portman is easily winning the Best Dressed Preggers award, she chose a pretty shade of plum purple by Rodarte. 

  

Black Swan's Mila Kunis chose Elie Saab and as George Kotsiopoulos, co-host of E!'s Fashion Police,  predicted during Fashiona's interview with him last week, was on most of the Best Dressed Lists.  

Mila completely nailed Red Carpet: just enough sparkle, hair pulled back to show off her features and the lilac color choice...perfect.

Fashiona on the 53rd Grammys

Fashiona arrived the 53rd Grammys viewing party fashionably late but when she got there she quickly joined the twitter chatter.

Best Dressed in Fashiona's book: Jennifer Hudson.  She looked absolutely fabulous from head to toe. The highlighted hair, the flawless face, the navy structured  Versace dress, Neil Lane jewelry, and Christian Louboutin shoes...a new body by Weight Watchers.

Best Channeling J-LO award: Kim Kardishan wore a Kaufman Franco gown, Christian Louboutin pumps and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.  Word has it she and her (in)famous "seat cushion" barely got into the dress.

Rihanna wins "I am too sexy for a real Dress award."  Jean Paul Gaultier  designed her haute couture mermaid gown

 Fashiona loved Katy Perry and her happy go luck spirit and therefore presents her with a Best Executed Over the Top Gown.  She looked like a slightly naughty angel with her  Swarovski crystal Giorgio Armani iridescent gown  with a train and (tehe) wings that actually lit up.  The Casadei platform heels were just to die for.

 


The ageless wonder  (otherwise known as) Heidi Klum wins the Not Bad but You can do SO much better dress award.  The all wrong and too clingy gown was by Julien Macdonald.

Social Sunday: CNN 2010 Heroes Red Carpet

CNN has a Thanksgiving tradition that Fashiona adores.  For the fourth year, CNN has honored "everyday" heroes that have made it their life's work to better the world of others.  Celebs and the recently rescued Chilean miners were invited to the taping of the show that aired on Thanksgiving day.


The Red Carpet highlights on the men's side included: CNN's always dashing Anderson Cooper, Adam Rodriguez, Common and Gerald Butler.


Well dressed women included: Jessica Alba wearing Rachel Comey, Marisa Tomei, Renee Zellweger and Shay Mitchell wearing a dress by Laundry.


Anuradha Koirala(seen below), a social worker in Nepal, whose group has rescued more than 12,000 women and girls from sex slavery  was chosen by the public as the CNN Hero of 2010.  See the complete list of top 10 CNN Heroes.

Halle Berry dazzles in a white Pamella Roland dress

Halle Berry certainly "keeps it moving" so to speak. A few months after calling it quits with her longtime boyfriend  Gabriel Aubry, she is dating again (Olivier Martinez) and back on the Red Carpet.

Last week she  hosted a special screening in New York of her latest film Frankie and Alice.  Her hair is cropped...again after wearing it long for a few years and she is wearing a strapless white dress from Pamella Roland and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Halle is starring in the movie and she is the leading producer...way to keep it moving Halle!!

ASCAP presents: Women Behind the Music Part 3

After posing and interviewing on the Red Carpet....ASCAP honorees shared some of their wisdom that they have collectively learned while climbing the music industry ladder.

Hannah Kang, GM of Grand Hustle shared with the panel and guests that she never expected to be a part of the music industry.  She was managing The Shark Bar in her early 20's and she was constantly surrounded by entertainment moguls.  Her take is that business is business... yes there are different nuances in every industry but the essentials of business remain the same. 


Attorney Sandra Brown cautions would-be-entertainment lawyers that there is A LOT of non-glamorous work that goes into representing top clients.  Those contracts have to be in the  best interest  of the client and that takes time and research.


Kelly Rowland's pearls of wisdom included: Stay true to yourself.  Keep a piece of you to yourself even in this tell all social media phase.  Kelly further explained she means that she prefers to keep her private life private...she still remains accessible to budding artists and fondly remembers clamoring for SMV's attention in Houston during the early days of Destiny's Child.

Platforms were the footwear of choice.  Rashan had on a floral print that Kelly complimented her on and Ms. Rowland rocked a pair of black suede platforms.

ASCAP presents: Women Behind the Music was about honoring women that have achieved greatness in the music field.  Tuesday night...they looked absolutely fab on the Red Carpet.


Atlanta's DJ Traci Steele was amazing on the turntables and wore a bright yellow top, black mini and chunky bracelets.  Rashan Ali wore a black jersey pant suit with a low, low black...her skin is flawless.

Mega Star of the night Kelly Rowland very graciously held interviews with all the press including Fashiona.  Kelly shared with her that she was wearing a boat neck black dress and YSL platform heels and "vintage Kelly" gold jewelry.

Hollywood cleans up at the 2010 Tonys

Last night while the Tony Awards were on, Fashiona was enjoying a lovely meal with Music Man and watching Game 5 of the NBA playoffs...

Hollywood and Broadway used to be a separate and distinct crowd but these days there is a lot of co-mingling.  Hollywood A-Listers...Denzel Washington, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Scarlett Johansson were all big winners last night.

Denzel won for his performance in August Wilson's Fences, Catherine for A Little Night Music and Scarlett for A View from the Bridge.

Catherine has had a stellar few days...she was also honored by Queen Elizabeth II on Saturday.  She can add "Dame" to her list of accomplishments. She looked every bit of theatre royalty in a Versace ice blue gown.

Fashiona on the 2010 MTV Movie Awards

The music award shows are always the most  fun for Fashiona to watch for the fashion as well as... the antics. 

In what other type of show would someone admit to being inspired by the Smurfs?  Katy Perry's hair was "smurf blue" but her make-up was flawless and showed a nod to Bridget Bardot's 1960's cat eye.

Of course the most talked about moment was Scarlett Johanson's smooch with Sandra Bullock. 

Scarlett did  look stunning in a green lace dress...maybe unlucky in love Sandra just couldn't resist?  Sandra  has been looking great all year despite her turbulent personal life. 

Sunday  night was no exception....wearing a lowcut Oday Chakar dress....Sandra wins Fashiona's Best Revenge Dress of the Year....
